One family, one wedding

The heart of the wedding
Held the evening before the wedding, close family and friends anoint the bride and groom with freshly pressed coconut milk — a ritual of purification and the start of a new life.
The women sing voviyos, playful folk verses that gently tease the couple, while the Laudate psalm invokes blessings and protection. The evening drifts into music, dancing and celebration late into the night.
